I am not this body
I am not male or female
Short or tall, fat or small
Or the color of this skin
I am not these emotions
Happy, sad, glad, mad
Or deeply mourning
I am not these thoughts
These beliefs, these memories
These hopes or dreams
I am not the chemicals
The hormones, the cells
The synapsing neurons
The body is finite, she will die
And I am her infinite lover
There is no greater love
I am her breath
I am the beat of her heart
I am her wings
She gives me legs
A taste of the Earth
And laughter and tears
The body blind
Don't know their lover
Is bonded to them
So close, so intimate
So they seek
And never find
Isn't it time
To lose yourself
To come alive?
