Thoughts don’t originate inside of you
They aren’t an idea that surfaces
And appears in your mind
As if you thought it
Thoughts are like a million sperm
Trying to impregnate your brain
You have to allow them entrance
To implant their story
While walking the dog this morning
Fear came swimming up and I said “not now”
Then worry swam up and I said “later”
Then a sweet memory came and we reminisced for a moment
Then I locked the door
I have no control over the thoughts
Only whether to give them time
And in the silence of no-thought
I feel peace and wholeness and contentment
There is aliveness around me “aliving”
And love loving
And the dog sniffing bird poop
When I get home, I’ll see what worry wants
