Enantiodromia

Don’t be afraid, please
Give it your all
Push the envelope and behold
It turns into love

Take sorrow to its extreme
And joy awaits
Allow anger to consume you
And peace awaits

Don’t grovel in self-pity
You weren’t meant
To be whimpering
With your head in the sand

Or worse, impotent and acting out
Like a coward with a gun
Or a president with a pen
And cruel intentions

There is a law of opposites
The swinging pendulum
And the cresting wave
Change course at their zenith

This must be experienced
The exhilaration at the peak
Before the fear
Of the crashing down

And in-between those two
A brief moment of surrender
And herein lies the path
Between Yin and Yang

Where the pendulum stops
And the ocean is calm
And life is lived to the fullest
No whimpering allowed.
