She is our best part
Our precious Soul
The Light of Love
She makes us humane
She flees during
Any act of violence
Against a body or psyche
She can’t be complicit
War is the worst
The are no victors
Only empty bodies
Who have lost their Souls
“My side won!”
Doesn’t matter
It’s a hollow victory
When the Soul has fled
It is better to die
With your Soul
Than to take Her to war
And Iose Her–perhaps forever
She won’t stick around
To help you cause harm
Your body is on its own
Just a tool to be used
She isn’t on your battleships
Holding your guns
Dropping your bombs
Or killing, pillaging, raping
She isn’t in your leaders
Money hungry, power hungry
So willing to sacrifice
Your body for their enrichment
I hope, if you survive
Shell-shocked and empty
You’ll find your Soul again
Before finding drugs and guns
Our only reason for being
Is to give Soul a home
To shine with Her light
And dispel the shadows
You can see Her
Feeding the hungry
Caring for the infirm
Marching in the streets
You can see Her
Building homes
Tending gardens
Protecting the wildlife
She teaches the children
To be kind and caring
And shelters them
From the soulless ones
She is in all our joy
And in love and beauty
And she weeps for those
Who choose violence
She is in music
With ancient rhythms
Hoping to stir your soulless body
To dance with Her…again
She is in the poets
That point you to your Source
And in the lovers of nature
Who protect the Earth
Beware!
Not all bodies have Souls
Cling tightly to yours
She is worth more than gold
