Seeking True North
I’ve spent many years
Looking for my inner compass
Seeking that unwavering needle
That points to True North
Searching for my deepest
Convictions, integrity, passions…
I disengaged from the shoulds
Of outside voices
And I could feel Her calling…
Beneath layers of noise
Beneath societal, cultural,
Religious and spiritual noise
Pulling me towards Her
Magnets attracting
Repelling all that
Is not love
And there is freedom
In this surety of gnosis
A lightness of being
Untethered, unbound
Truth is invisible
Words can’t define Her
But She is the fluid elegance
Seen in acts of kindness
And She is felt as heart swell
And gasps of awe
I am so grateful
I took the arduous trek
…and found Her.
