‘Tis the Reason

I have five sisters and a brother 
From the same mother
And five more sisters
From the same mister
(That makes eleven
With Carol in heaven)

And then there's my son
And nephews and nieces
And y'all know
I just love them to pieces

I have deep loving friendships
That go far back in time
And new DNA cousins
Who found me online

And friends of the soul
Kindred spirited, the like-hearted
And my pups and my cats
And the dearly departed

So whenever I celebrate
Whatever the season
It's because I feel blessed 
And love is the reason
