I am unable to remove the filth of bad men
From this world
So, today I will shampoo my carpet
And pour the dirty water down the drain
This is how I pray

I am unable to change man’s violent heart
Into a compassionate one
So, today I will nurture and protect
Those next to me
This is how I pray

I am unable to change man’s desert soul
Into an abundant, verdant one
So today I will feed the hummingbirds
Fertilize the trees, and give what I can
This is how I pray

I am unable to change man’s inflated ego
Into humility and kindness
So today I will live simply and sustainably
Knowing that less is more
This is how I pray

I am unable to change man’s insane mind
Into a just and peaceful one
So today I will find balance
Between my hate and my love
This is how I pray.
