It is so noisy and busy
And self-indulgent
Our western culture
Empty egos seeking youth
And wealth and adventures
Traveling from one 'aha moment'
To the next
Testosterone laden lads
seeking release
In guns and cars and fists and pulpits
Yes pulpits
This is nothing new
These fruitless, worthless pursuits
Same tired roles of hero/villain
Saint/sinner, predator/victim
Same tired costumes
Of King and Queen
Of cowboy and princess
Of rebel and conformist
Morphed over and over
Same missionary style life
With man on top
While the world contines
To devolve
